October 20th Issue of Greenlane Digest

Hi and welcome to our weekly recap, where we take a closer look at the RNG industry, with the latest stories and information on how we are accelerating the energy transition. Make sure you forward our newsletter to your fellow energy accelerators!

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners reaches final close of EUR ~2 Bn for two new funds

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield renewable energy investments and a global leader in offshore wind,  has reached final close for its two new funds, CI Advanced Bioenergy Fund I (CI ABF I) and CI Green Credit Fund I (CI GCF I) with total LP commitments of EUR ~2 Bn. 2023 has been a record year for CIP, as in addition to this final close announcement, CIP also held first close for its flagship fund, CI V, at EUR 5.6 Bn. The two funds make up integral parts of CIP’s distinct greenfield renewable energy infrastructure focused fund strategies. CI ABF I is expected to contribute substantially to producing clean fuels such as RNG from food waste, agricultural residues and other organic waste streams, displacing carbon-emitting fuels and mitigating negative environmental impacts from these waste streams. CI GCF I provides debt financing with subordinated risk characteristics for renewable energy projects globally, contributing to decarbonizing the power market.

Accelerating the energy transition

Greenlane (TSX:GRN) is driving change: accelerating the energy transition to a net-zero emissions economy. We are cleaning up two of the largest and most difficult to decarbonize sectors of the global energy system: the natural gas grid and commercial transportation.

As a pioneer and leading specialist in biogas upgrading, we have been actively contributing to the decarbonization of our planet for over 35 years. The systems we provide transform biogas generated from organic waste into high-value grid-ready renewable natural gas (“RNG”).

Our systems produce clean, low-carbon and carbon-negative RNG from organic waste sources including agriculture (such as dairy and hog manure), water resource recovery facilities, food waste, landfills, and sugar mills. Greenlane is the only biogas upgrading company offering and actively deploying the three main upgrading technologies: waterwash, pressure swing adsorption, and membrane separation, plus proprietary biogas desulfurization technology. Greenlane has delivered over 140 biogas upgrading systems into 19 countries, including some of the largest RNG production facilities in the world.
