November4th Issue of Greenlane Digest

IN THE NEWS

Greenlane (TSX:GRN) is a pioneer in the rapidly emerging renewable natural gas (RNG) industry. We work with waste producers, gas utilities, and project developers to turn low-value biogas into a valuable low-carbon and carbon-negative clean energy resource. As a leading global provider of biogas upgrading systems, we are helping to clean up two of the largest and most difficult-to-decarbonize sectors of the global energy system: the natural gas grid and the commercial transportation sector.

Greenlane issued the following news release this week:

Greenlane to announce third quarter 2022 results on November 8, 2022 and host conference call

Greenlane will announce its 2022 third quarter financial results on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 after markets close, followed by a conference call at 5:00 PM ET (2:00 PM PT).  Representing management will be Brad Douville, President and Chief Executive Officer and Monty Balderston, Chief Financial Officer. The public is invited to listen to the conference call in real time by telephone. To access the conference call by telephone, please dial: 1-800-319-4610 (Canada & USA toll-free) or 1-604-638-5340. Callers should dial in 5-10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and ask to join the Greenlane Renewables conference call.

Greenlane is a pure play in the RNG space, offering multiple core biogas upgrading technologies, in use and proven in the industry today. Biogas upgrading sales are forecasted by industry to grow at a minimum 30% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years in North America and Europe. Our demonstrated leadership in biogas upgrading, scope and breadth of product offerings, and over 30 years of industry experience are fierce competitive advantages.

Today, we are a trusted partner globally and are ranked number one in installed capacity, having sold more than 135 biogas upgrading systems into 19 countries and counting. We’ve learned a lot along the way. First to market in 12 of the 19 countries where our systems have been sold, we’re also proud to have supplied the systems for many of the largest RNG production facilities in the world.

Macquarie Asset Management’s Green Investment Group (GIG) announced that it has acquired specialist biogas platform BayWa r.e. Bioenergy, via its Macquarie GIG Energy Transition Solutions fund. Active across the full asset lifecycle, BayWa r.e. Bioenergy develops, constructs, and operates biogas projects that provide biomethane and power to local energy companies, industrial companies, and energy traders. Its existing portfolio comprises five operational plants in Germany and a pipeline of development projects located across Italy. The business’s current operational assets produce a total of approximately 140 GWh of biomethane annually helping avoid 13.16 ktCO2e of GHG emissions every year.

In the Netherlands, Titan, an independent supplier of low and zero-carbon fuels, announced a liquefied biomethane (LBM) production project for 200,000 tpy of LBM. Titan will build and operate the LBM plant at its strategic location in the Port of Amsterdam to supply ships and trucks. BioValue, one of the largest biogas suppliers in the Netherlands, will supply a significant part of the biogas required for the total LBM production. BioValue will construct a new biogas plant adjacent to the LBM plant. Additional biogas will be sourced from other production installations throughout Europe that are connected to the existing gas grid. The LBM will displace conventional fossil fuels, avoiding approximately 1 million tpy of CO2 equivalent emissions, equal to the annual emissions of about 25 percent of all diesel cars in the Netherlands, with first production expected in 2025.

Quebec natural gas utility Énergir has issued a new request for proposals for RNG to increase the quantity of RNG in its gas system in order to comply with Quebec’s revised regulations that require gas distributors to deliver 5% of their RNG volumes by 2025 and 10% by 2030. Énergir is seeking to contract between 2.5 and 3.6 million MMBtu/year of RNG from producers throughout North America that are able to commit to first deliveries by October 2024 and that utilize organic feedstock to produce RNG.
