Greenlane and the other founding IBA members offer integrated solutions for the global biogas industry

Greenlane (TSXV:GRN) is a pioneer in the rapidly emerging renewable natural gas (RNG) market. We work with waste producers, gas utilities, and project developers to turn low-value biogas into a valuable low-carbon clean energy resource.

Greenlane is a pure play in the RNG space, offering multiple core biogas upgrading technologies, in use and proven in the industry today. Biogas upgrading sales are forecasted by industry to grow at minimum 30% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years in North America and Europe. Our demonstrated leadership in biogas upgrading, scope and breadth of product offerings, and 30+ years’ industry experience are fierce competitive advantages.

Today, we are a trusted partner globally and are ranked number one in installed capacity, having delivered more than 100+ biogas upgrading installations in 18 countries and counting. We’ve learned a lot along the way. First to market in 11 of the 18 countries where our systems operate, we’re also proud to have supplied the systems for the largest RNG production facilities in North America and Europe, respectively.

Through the Greenlane Digest, our goal is to provide weekly updates and the latest articles on the RNG industry. Make sure you forward our newsletter to your contacts!

Greenlane and the other founding members of the Integrated Biogas Alliance (Eisenmann, Entsorga, and Tietjen) have joined forces to offer the global biogas industry a fully integrated suite of equipment and systems for production of biogas from virtually all organic waste streams.  In what is a highly fragmented industry, Greenlane is now well-positioned to pursue a broader pipeline of project opportunities through the Alliance.  One of the key advantages of the integrated technology platform is the ability to mitigate project risk that historically has been a challenge for EPCs with multiple vendors and project financiers.

The newly-elected chair of RNG Coalition’s Sustainability Advisory Board, Michael Bakas, proclaimed the RNG industry is on the verge of exponential growth ”thanks to new state-level incentive programs, a dedicated effort by natural gas utilities to decarbonise their pipelines and stakeholders’ desire to address thermal sustainability.”  Greenlane plays a key part in the RNG value chain, evidenced by its recent contract win with SoCalGas, the largest natural gas utility in North America, converting landfill waste gas into pipeline-spec biomethane.

RNG in British Columbia continues to gain traction and momentum spurred in large part by the province’s commitment of up to 5% RNG in its portfolio of natural gas distribution.

From Europe, the Head of Renewable Energy for the EU said there is no way to achieve climate neutrality by mid-century without significant growth in biogas.  Currently, renewable gas supplies approximately 7% of the EU’s energy consumption, and for the EU to reach a carbon-neutral position by 2050, which it has targeted, the renewable gas mix will need to grow significantly to an estimated range of 50% to 62.5%.  This is a very positive scenario for Greenlane as it has a strong and growing presence in Europe.
