December 17th Issue of Greenlane Digest

IN THE NEWS

Greenlane (TSX:GRN) is a pioneer in the rapidly emerging renewable natural gas (RNG) market. We work with waste producers, gas utilities, and project developers to turn low-value biogas into a valuable low-carbon and carbon-negative clean energy resource.

Greenlane issued the following news release this week:

Greenlane to acquire Airdep, a leading Italian provider of biogas desulfurization and air deodorization products

Greenlane announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Airdep S.R.L.(“Airdep”). Founded in 2011, Airdep is a provider of biogas desulfurization and air deodorization products based in Vicenza, Italy. The acquisition of Airdep will bring in-house an effective and proven technology to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from biogas for integration with Greenlane’s portfolio of biogas upgrading systems that produce low-carbon and carbon-negative RNG. Through the acquisition, Greenlane expects to further strengthen its price competitiveness and margins by insourcing a technology that it would otherwise procure to integrate into its biogas upgrading systems. In addition, Greenlane can expand its scope of supply and increase its revenue in projects where customers would otherwise purchase the H2S systems directly from others.  “Every biogas to RNG project requires H2S treatment. The addition of Airdep’s proven technology to our industry-leading biogas upgrading solutions enables us to bring even more value to customers,” said Brad Douville, President and CEO of Greenlane.

Greenlane is a pure play in the RNG space, offering multiple core biogas upgrading technologies, in use and proven in the industry today. Biogas upgrading sales are forecasted by industry to grow at a minimum 30% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next five years in North America and Europe. Our demonstrated leadership in biogas upgrading, scope and breadth of product offerings, and 30+ years’ industry experience are fierce competitive advantages.

Today, we are a trusted partner globally and are ranked number one in installed capacity, having sold more than 125 biogas upgrading systems into 19 countries and counting. We’ve learned a lot along the way. First to market in 12 of the 19 countries where our systems have been sold, we’re also proud to have supplied the systems for the largest RNG production facilities in North America and Europe, respectively.

Bioenergy Devco, a global developer of anaerobic digestion (AD) facilities, recently announced that it secured $100 million in financing from funds managed by Irradiant Partners, LP, an alternative investment manager with expertise in climate infrastructure, private equity, and credit. The new capital will support development of multiple AD facilities across North America to drive sustainable organic waste recycling and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Clean Energy Fuels, the largest provider of the cleanest fuel for the transportation market in the U.S., announced additional fuel and infrastructure contracts to meet the growing demand for RNG. The company’s Adopt-a-Port program in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach with Chevron continues to gain momentum, with more fleets switching to RNG. Chevron has committed to provide a total of $28 million of financing to trucking companies serving the ports region as well as owner-operators to purchase new RNG heavy-duty trucks. So far, over 200 heavy-duty trucks have been contracted through the program and over 400 more are being processed, which will help to clean the air in and around the ports and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, Clean Energy Fuels announced numerous RNG and CNG fueling contracts in the U.S. and Canada.
